Refund policy

Contributions, business-spot bids and float ads are not refundable once they are credited. That is the default, it is stated before you pay, and the reason for it is on this page — along with the cases where money does come back.

Refunds

Written for launch by the team that built the product, so that a customer can see the rules before paying. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and consumer-protection law in your country may give you rights this page does not describe. Have a qualified lawyer review it before relying on it.

Why a placement is not refundable

What you buy is delivered instantly and in public. The moment a payment is verified, the amount is added to a city's score, the leaderboard re-ranks, a listing takes its position and the live feed records it. Other people see that and act on it: a rival city gets backed in response, a business tops up to take its spot back, somebody shares the standing.

Reversing that later is not a matter of moving money back. It means editing a public record that other purchases have already been made against. So the rule is simple and it is the same for everyone: once it is credited, it stands.

This is why the site asks you to confirm an amount before it opens the payment window, and why the INR figure is shown before you pay rather than after. That figure is fixed when the order is created, at the market reference rate current at that moment — it does not move while you are paying.

When we do refund

These are payment faults rather than changes of mind, and they are put right:

  • A duplicate charge. The same purchase was billed more than once — a double click, a retried checkout, a payment window that was submitted twice. The duplicate is refunded in full; the first charge stands.
  • Money taken that never credited. Your bank shows a charge but the city's score never moved, or the listing never appeared. Either the score is applied or the payment is refunded, whichever you prefer.
  • A charge you did not authorise. Tell us and tell your bank. Fraud is handled through Razorpay's dispute process and the placement is removed.
  • A float that could not run. If a float ad never went live, or ran materially short of the duration its package names, the unrun portion is refunded.

When we do not

None of these is a fault. Every one of them is the product behaving exactly as described before purchase:

  • Someone outbid you. A listing pushed out of the 5 live spots stays published in the challenger queue and can climb back with a top-up.
  • Your city was overtaken, or did not reach the rank you were aiming for. The board is competitive; a rank is never sold.
  • A listing or a float did not bring the traffic, clicks or customers you hoped for. Placement is sold, attention is not.
  • You changed your mind, backed the wrong city, or typed the wrong amount within the limits the checkout accepts.
  • A season ended. Seasons close on a published date and closing one refunds nothing.
  • A placement was removed for breaking the terms — a misleading link, an impersonation, unlawful content.

How to raise one

Write to us within 30 days of the charge with:

  • the Razorpay payment id from your receipt — there is no account on this site, so this is the only thing that identifies a purchase;
  • the amount and the date of the charge;
  • the city, or the business name on the listing;
  • what went wrong, in a sentence.

Send it to morningstar200069@gmail.com. We aim to answer within three working days and to tell you either way, with the reason.

How a refund is paid

Through Razorpay, back to the payment method that was charged, in INR — the currency the charge was taken in. Once Razorpay releases it, banks typically take a further five to seven working days to post it, which is outside our control.

A refunded payment takes its effect with it: the points it bought are removed from the city's score, and any listing or float it paid for comes down.

Chargebacks

If something is wrong, ask us first — a duplicate charge is faster to fix directly than through a bank. Raising a chargeback on a placement that was delivered as described will be contested with the payment record, and the listing and the score it bought are removed while the dispute runs.
